The San Antonio Spurs is a top tier team in the NBA and has been for most of NBA history. Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobli are all veterans on the Spurs and have been playing in the NBA for years. They are still one of the top leaders on the team, but they also had help from some younger players such as Kawhi Leonard and Gerald Green. This season the Spurs are second in the Western Conference and are undefeated at their home court. Their home record is 38 win and 0 losses. The Spurs are one of the only teams to shut down the Golden State Warriors. They only allowed Stephen Curry to drain one three out of eleven. They also didn't allow the Three-Point Contest winner, Klay Thompson to score one three-point basket.
Of the Spurs' 36 seasons since joining the NBA, they had received many awards. The San Antonio Spurs have won five NBA titles. They won in the years 2014, 2007, 2005, 2003, and 1999. The Spurs appeared in the playoffs 32 times. They have had a winning record for 28 seasons. The Spurs have had many players in the Hall of Fame. This list included George Gervin, Moses Malone, Dominique Wilkins, David Robinson, Artis Gilmore, and Dennis Rodman. The Spurs will probably have three more "Hall of Famers" soon, but they are still playing: Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobli. The Spurs also have coach Gregg Popovich who is considered to be one of the best coaches in NBA history. The Spurs have been one of the best teams in the NBA and will be for the next couple of years.

NBA: San Antonio Spurs vs Oklahoma City Thunder
Today the San Antonio Spurs went up against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Spurs are in second place in the Western Conference and the Thunder are right behind them in third place. The Thunder are led by Kevin Durant and Russel Westbrook. Westbrook has been the All-Star MVP for two straight years. The Spurs are led by Kawhi Leonard and Tim Duncan. Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli are also great team leaders, but they have become too old. I thought that the Spurs would win this one, but the Thunder came out in the end to pull out the victory.
In the first quarter, the Spurs took an early close lead, 26-24. Then in the second quarter, the Thunder managed to play some good defense to hold the Spurs to 18 points and the Thunder scored 24. The score was now 48-44 going into halftime. In the third quarter, the Thunder played more great defense to hold the Spurs to 19 points. The Thunder were on fire in the third quarter. They scored 35 points. The score was now 83-63. It was a blowout. The final score was 111-92.
Kevin Durant had a big scoring night. He scored 31 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Russel Westbrook also had a big night. He scored 29 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds. Enes Kanter also scored more points than he usually does. He scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. The Spurs on the other hand did not have their star players: Kawhi Leonard, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Tony Parker. That was a big reason why they did not win.

NBA: San Antonio Spurs vs Golden State Warriors
On March 19, the San Antonio Spurs went up against the top team in the league, the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors were 62-7 and the Spurs were 59-10. The Spurs have been one of the top teams in the league for quite some years. Many of these years nobody really talked about them, it was all about the Warriors and the Cavs. With Stephen Curry still on an amazing streak of having hit a three pointer in every game this season, the Spurs were looking to stop him. Danny Green and Kawhi Leonard were defending him and they are both a top tier defender in the league. Everyone knew that this would be a close game.
By the end of the first quarter the Warriors were winning 18-17. Then the Spurs went on a run and scored 26 points in the second quarter with only allowing the Warriors to score 19. The score was now 43-36, the Spurs winning. Then the Warriors went on a little bit of a run and scored 28 points and allowing the Spurs to score 22 by the end of the third quarter. Now the score was 68-64. It was a close game, as predicted. The Spurs took the lead by scoring 22 points in the final quarter and only allowing the Warriors to score 14 points. The Spurs won this game. The final score was 87-79. This was a very low scoring game. Most of the NBA games go past 100 points or at least 90.
Now for some stats. LaMarcus Aldridge led all scorers in points with 26. He also grabbed 13 rebounds. Then it was Kawhi Leonard. He had scored 18 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 assists. He and Danny Green locked down Stephen Curry only allowing him to score 14 points (he averages about 30 points a game), but Steph Curry did manage to drain a three pointer to keep him streak alive. Klay Thompson led the Warriors in scoring. He had 15 points, but he shot 20 shots and only made 7. This night was a very bad night for the Warriors and a very good day for the Spurs.
