NBA: San Antonio Spurs vs Oklahoma City Thunder

Today the San Antonio Spurs went up against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Spurs are in second place in the Western Conference and the Thunder are right behind them in third place. The Thunder are led by Kevin Durant and Russel Westbrook. Westbrook has been the All-Star MVP for two straight years. The Spurs are led by Kawhi Leonard and Tim Duncan. Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli are also great team leaders, but they have become too old. I thought that the Spurs would win this one, but the Thunder came out in the end to pull out the victory.

In the first quarter, the Spurs took an early close lead, 26-24. Then in the second quarter, the Thunder managed to play some good defense to hold the Spurs to 18 points and the Thunder scored 24. The score was now 48-44 going into halftime. In the third quarter, the Thunder played more great defense to hold the Spurs to 19 points. The Thunder were on fire in the third quarter. They scored 35 points. The score was now 83-63. It was a blowout. The final score was 111-92.

Kevin Durant had a big scoring night. He scored 31 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Russel Westbrook also had a big night. He scored 29 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds. Enes Kanter also scored more points than he usually does. He scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. The Spurs on the other hand did not have their star players: Kawhi Leonard, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Tony Parker.  That was a big reason why they did not win.
